I got a call form an apple guy saying I should hold off buying my mac untill the G5 is released because that will push down the prices of the G4, with the highest G4's becoming the entry level G5s. You know anything about this?

G5s should be launched in the next couple of weeks.

I've heard similar rumours but they estimated the arrival of the G5 in September. There is definitely talk of an iminent upgrade to the range(this may involve the G5 and so probably your information is more accurate to mine) For me the G5 is becoming a bit of a mythical product, I'm not sure if it'll ever exist.

Apple normally launch some new products in about feb/march time so sit tight and maybe your patience will be rewarded.

Don't expect a heavy discount on end of line/old model Mac's.

What happen to super drive that you can creative menu of dvd. G5 has been gossip for a year and half. Will it exist if so when last week or first week of march always announce of MAC's new verison. Mac is famous for rumor. Jerome, deaf filmmaker

Yeah no sign of a G5, WHAT THE GUY WAS ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT WAS THE NEW 1.42 GHZ G4.

So I'm biting the bullet and have ordered one along with the ultra stylish 20" cinema display...now all i need is for the four long agonising weeks to pass till it arrives.

Got my hands on FCP3 too, so I should be ready to start cutting stuff by the end of the month.

Can anyone actually use these "airport" things? Surely most people can't have a wireless internet connection?
